Facebook is making it compulsory for users to download a separate
application just to chat. Since Facebook is removing the chat option from the app
for Android and iOS smart phones, users are be notified to download the
Facebook Messenger app to be able to chat. As much as people hate the fact that
they have to have two separate applications, when they could just have ONE,
people have no idea what their actually letting Facebook access to.
So many users are downloading this app throughout this week,
which made it number one on Apple’s app store but with only one star rating. That
doesn’t make sense….does it? So many users are so frustrated about being forced
to download this app and also now they have an extra app to worry about.
When people download this app, what they don’t realize is that they allow Facebook permission to multiple of things like contacts, messages, photos and heaps more. Some of the Terms and Conditions of the app is that allows the app to record audio with microphone, it can take pictures or videos with your camera without you knowing, it can read personal information on your phone, and also can make phone call or send messages without you knowing, which can charge you money. This app is invasion of your privacy!
No social network sites should force their uses to download
something or to do something. Their users should really have a choice and know
their personal information is safe. Why is it that hard to have everything in
one app?
