Apple and PC are different in their own ways, but it isn’t a secret
that there is rivalry between them. As more school are getting technology involve
with each student’s learning, schools are finding it difficult to know with
will benefit their students and which device doesn’t. More schools are
considering moving to an Apple environment over the current PC environment. So what
are the Pros and Cons of Apple and PC? Let’s find out.
Having PCs means having more availability to more software
application for each student to access. No matter what the assignment is, there
is always an application that PCs can install. PC has more of a broader
selection of manufacturers like Dell or HP and has a greater extent of
components to upgrade. PCs are more flexible, you are able to customize the
computer to the schools liking and also with old PCs it is compatible to
Windows 7, so there is no need to purchase more computers. How good does PC
sound? But there is always a bad side.
PC has more virus threats, students going on site and downloading
things that they shouldn’t be and as result their computer has a virus and
their only excuse is “yolo”. PC tends to be large and heavy, so it’s defiantly difficult
for students to carry them to, during and after school. They take up a huge amount
of space in their bags and lockers, leaving less space for text books and work
books. So can Apple be any better?
Beside Apple devices being visually appealing and has a grate
design, Apple also has their own applications like iBook to download text books
or just reading books. Other application including iMovie for media student and
igarage for students involve in music. With the Bootcamp software, the school
can decide to download Windows or Linux, depending on the schools liking. Apple
can get virus but there isn’t many virus compared to PC.
So the Cons of Apple is that it cost too much for what you
get. There is generally a limit of thing that can be upgraded and Apple doesn’t
have much customization, so that the computers can suit the intentions of the
use of computers in class. There isn’t a wide range of software to be installed
for students to work and even though it’s less maintenance, Apple doesn’t have
the antivirus software that exists on PCs, which means there is a higher risk
of each computer containing a virus.
Although Apple and PC are different, they both will help
students with learning and researching for any purposes. It all depends on the
school liking. So what would you chose?
