North Korea is defiantly a mystery country where only 4% of
its population can access the internet and every websites are under the control
of the government. So why be so excluded from the world?
I don’t think people in North Korea will be checking their
Facebook or Instagram every day. Everyone loves the internet but people in
North Korea hardly use the internet. It’s called “intranet” there. North Korea use the censorship, to protect there nation from other countries, they think its keeping their country safe. Is there anything good about this?
The advantages of having censorship on the internet are that
the public is protected from any over exaggerated rumours and stops the nation
to be feared. As kids are to be curious most of the time the internet is where
to go, so having websites blocked can prevent kids from being exposed to inappropriate
things or anything else involving the internet.
Of course there is another side of censorship and the
biggest thing is that people in North Korea are mostly control of what their
nation’s thoughts about the government. People don’t have their own
self-expression and having the censorship stops people from being exposed to
other counties beliefs, so they don’t develop their own opinion. Everyone around
the world wants to be linked in some way and the internet is a way. Having websites
blocked, websites including social media separates the country from all the
others. Is that what North Korea’s intensions are? to be a part from the world?
Censorship is defiantly a way to keep country’s nation safe
from the outrageous things on the internet but I think everyone should be able
to decide their decision whether or not they allow internet for their family to
use. Everyone has the right to choose what they want and shouldn’t be forced.
Then on the other hand, it’s also depends on each government and their
decisions. what would you chane of you where prime minster?
