With technology becoming more advance these days, phones and
computers are developing to things that they weren’t 30 years ago, now even
watches. In the 1995 episode of "Lisa's wedding", her fiancé makes a
phone call using his watch. Now in 2014 we recently launched smartwatches,
which is basically a phone and watch combined. Did Samsung and Apple get their
inspiration from the Simpsons?
Yet another prediction from the episode of “Lisa’s Wedding”
was video chatting. Lisa enters a regular phone number and Marge then pops up
on the screen of the phone. How crazy is that? The Simpsons already knew we
would video chat with people. Skype and Face time is what we use to video chat and
it’s such a great way to communicate with people from overseas or even if they’re
just in the next room.
Don’t everyone hate auto-correct sometimes? You are trying to
message someone but auto-correct decides to change to a word that is totally different
to what you typed. Well that’s what school bully Dolph felt in episode "Lisa
on Ice", in 1994. He tried to take a memo on his Apple device “Beat up,
Martin” but of course it auto-corrected to “Eat up, Martin”, typical devices.

I guess the Simpsons have predicted our future of technology in
some ways. Maybe our companies should get their inspiration from watching Simpson
episodes; I know that would be interesting.
